entering the theatre
To enter the theatre to see our latest work, La Comunion, you must first cross through a passage lined with photographs taken by youth from Medellin, Colombia. Some of these kids are youth at risk of becoming involved in the civil conflict, some are kids in a reintegration program, having been former child soldiers themselves.
Their stories form the backbone of our show - which is about a young woman who joins an illegal army as a way to escape poverty and domestic abuse.
Hopefully the threshold is a real thing to the audience - a bridge to another reality - moving from Toronto to Medellin, en route to a place of storytelling that is here and nowhere.
