what we do it for

Sometimes I wonder why we work until midnight every other night on grants and proposals for things that may or may not turn into underpaid work six months to a year from now... and something like this comes along to make you go: ah. A beautiful piece of life.

Bea and I are going to Ottawa this weekend to mount Diane Flacks' "Bear With Me" at the Magnetic North Festival. Lots of scrambling for the simplest, most portable and affordable elements, and honing it down to what the show is really about: watching Diane do her thing. She is the most amazing Jewish Lesbian mother I've ever met - more on why later.

Comments:
I'm still patiently the explanation for why Diane Flacks "is the most amazing Jewish Lesbian mother you've ever met", considering you've met a few. I first met Diane more than fifteen years ago and even my brother thought she was funny (and cute!) but where does the amazing part come in?

Please insert "awaiting" after patiently in kodeureum's previous comment. (ed.)
