approach with caution
this is Laura (left) and Adam (right) during some work in Trinity-Bellwoods park, figuring out their upcoming performance piece (Time Out / Game On) for the Queen West Arts Crawl this fall. Adam is quietly hilarious, and Laura the perfect straightwoman.
I feel like hiding lately too. We've been looking for a house, Bea and I, and it looks like we've found one we can afford (i.e, one the bank will afford and charge us for until we die). The stress has been intense - just trying to keep up with work while this (a full time job in itself) is going on is CRAZY. I've had tension headaches like nothing I've felt in memory, and we are particularly short with each other. Now that the deal is just about sealed, perhaps things will open up again. Right now, though, it's hard to be sociable - something about mortgaging your future and not being sure it will happen -- as well as the race to make huge decisions in a flash in the overheated Toronto Real Estate market -- all makes life seem like a surreal romp through a stressed-out neverland that leaves you without much room to relax and appreciate anything, let alone laugh and joke about bullshit with friends. Ah, friends....
So if you're anywhere near St.Clair and Landsdowne/Keele, give a shout - there's going to be a bit of a party on in October and you're invited.
